Pick of the Week: Battlepug

Battlepug by Mike Norton  is told through narration by Moll to her two dogs Colfax and Mingo.  The story she unfolds to her beloved pets follows the adventures of what is possibly the last Kimmundy child as he narrowly survives the destruction of his people only to be brought into Slavery and then set forth on a mission fueled by REVENGE!

As a small boy the Kinmundian Warrior watched as his village was destroyed by a giant creature, left for dead he was rescued by Elves and brought to the King of the Northland Elves to decide his fate.  His fate was not one of kindness but one of servitude that hardened him and magnified his thirst for vengeance.  Soon the same creature that had destroyed his tribe found it’s way into the Northland Elves territory leaving behind a similar destructive wake, the time for revenge was at hand.

Now the Kinmundian Warrior had exacted revenge for his people but his thirst for vengeance was not filled and he continued his quest seeking out the magical creatures where they hid and killing them.   Soon his journeys take him further south and he soon finds himself face to face with another creature that he longs to destroy, confident it has destroyed another village,  The Battlepug.   As the truth reveals itself the Kinmundian warrior finds the pug to be an ally and also gains another traveler to his group.

Now with his new friends in tow the Kinmundian Warrior sets off on his next adventure, one that continues to be plagued by the magic of this great land finding them up against both animal and human challenges.   As each of these new challenges arise the warrior finds that his new friends are there to help him along the way and each one has it’s own unique way of taking care of the precarious situations they are in.
