Welcome to the Webcomic Alliance!

The Webcomic Alliance

Hi everyone!

We are proud to launch the home of the Webcomic Alliance, your worksource for digital comics!

The Webcomic Alliance is for all webcomic artists and writers, from aspiring to well established webcomic community members, who are looking for some help or input from fellow webcomic creators.

The Webcomic Alliance is a free resource for webcomic creators featuring useful articles, tips and tricks and the Webcomic Workshop Podcast, a round table discussion of common issues facing digital comic creators that comes out with a new episode every two weeks on a Wednesday.ย  Plus we feature a Weekly Spotlight on Webcomics all over the world!

It’s going to be a lot of fun, so pick a topic and start reading.ย  Or drop by the Podcast page for a fun hour of webcomic information and drinking advice!ย  As the weeks progress, you’ll see more and more articles, reports, and tutorials.

Welcome aboard!

  1. Nice look and feel, guys. I like the corporate colors and the “oversized,” relaxed design. The individual icons are big and easy to read. A nicely balanced list of topics/menusโ€”excellent for navigation and research.
A great start. I’m very proud of you guys.

    Long Live The Alliance!!

  2. Great job guys. As I move forward with trying to get my pen wet with webcomics, I know I’ll use this site a lot. All of ya’ll have a great approach to this industry and I look forward to learning from your tutorials and the workshop podcasts. I wish ya’ll all the best in this endeavor.

    • Time will tell, but we’re off to a good start. All five of us have varied backgrounds and those experiences directly translate to the business of creating webcomics. Who knew? ๐Ÿ™‚

    • And so we are!! That’s our goal, work together to learn, improve everyday and share it with the Webcomic Community!

      Thanks Joe! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Can you please clearly state who the members of the Alliance are?
Be good to see total transparency & know exactly which people are involved in creating the
    content on this site

    • Of course! It is available in the About section!

      We are:
      – Byron Wilkins, from 1977 the comic
      – Kurt Sasso, from TGT Webcomics
      – Ken Drab, from Rick the Stick
      – Dawn Griffin, from Zorphbert6 and Fred
      – And myself, Antoine, from the Drunken Fools

      Welcome Scott!

    • Totally!

This is part of our Post-Launch implementation ideas!

And after seeing your own tutorials, surely We would welcome your submission with opened arms! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. I really like what you all are doing here. I was just wondering if a forum might be incorporated into the site someday? It might be useful if moderated properly. I know that’s a lot of weight for someone but I’m curious. Best of luck to you all!

    • Thanks Adam!

We are definitively looking at the forum possibility. We wanted to launch first a see the demand after.

      Stay tuned on that! ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Nice job on the site guys. It’s nice to have all this info collected in one place again.

You should have some live streaming video of comic creation I think, I know I have learned a lot while watching someone else draw and asking them questions about their technique.

I’ll be checking back regularly to keep an eye on you guys, someone has to make sure you all behave.

    • Hey Keith! Yes, I have been working on doing video tutorials, but my current system just does not have the power to handle that well. If the “money gods” shine on me this quarter, I hope to have a new machine over Christmas and will start up the videos then. Stay tooned…
